Receive OK from Rotorway on Cyclic Bearings Mod and Cabin Comfort ‘T’ piece mods.

Pass verbal safety test and take FIRST SOLO FLIGHT yippee

Passed Human Performace Examination

Had my first (and hopefully last) Major Moment. Ship and me unscathed

Back in the saddle. Scared but OK.

Fly R22 into Redlands under my control for the first time.

8th August

9.30 PM  Fire up Exec engine. Perfect 1st time - so far. 940 hours into the build

3rd September

1st CAA Engineers Inspection

18th Sept

1st Tethered run up with blades on.

26th September

Clocked up 1068 build hours so far.

5th October

Passed Helicopter Technical Exam

7th October

Passed Helicopter Performance Exam

13th October

Passed Meteorology Exam - a Toughie!

26th October

Passed Navigation Exam - That’s the lot!!

First Solo Cross Country

Completed final graphics details. The basic construction of my ship is finished. 1139 Hours total build time not including lying awake at nights, surfing the net for information, compiling this website and my own worksheets, talking and discussing things with other builders and the innumerable hours spent daydreaming and pondering things through.

Of course, the work never really ends but from now on it’s just tweeking and miaintenance.

1st Land Away Cross Country

20th January 2006

G-CDBK collected on a trailer by Southern Helicopters and taken to their base for final inspections and flight testing. (see pic below)

30th January

Completed Solo Cross-country qualifier. Rochester-Lydd-Goodwood-Rochester

 

Here’s progress on 20th February 2005. Exhaust, radiator and Oil bath fitted.

Here’s progress at 24th June. All panels finally trimmed and secured with fixings. Doors complete and removed for paint. Next step - all panels off for paint then wiring and instruments.

Here’s progress at 4th September 2005 - almost one year from delivery. The first Engineers Inspection was yesterday. Blades have been on and off. Engine’s running and all is sweet.

1st October 2005 Painted and assembled. Just waiting for insurance, graphics and Pilots license.

November 25th 2005. Ship’s finshed - it’s just down to me now.
